First TRP in Croatia

First TRP in Croatia

One of the largest industrial parks in Croatia is being built in Crno, about 4 km from Zadar in Northern Dalmatia. The four million square meter site will house business centers, hotels, industrial and commercial facilities, warehouses, sports and recreation centers, parks, and green areas. Zadar and its region are connected to the water-supply system of the Zrmanja drainage basin i.e. to the regional water-supply system of Northern Dalmatia and meet their drinking water needs from local water sources.

The industrial park area is also located in such a water catchment area, and it is therefore of utmost importance that the project does not damage surface and groundwater. This also applies to stormwater runoff contaminated by traffic and industrial activities. Taking into consideration the size of the new industrial park, the designers looked for a high-capacity solution regarding stormwater treatment. They were searching for a solution that would require less earthwork, be cost-effective, and has a long lifespan.

After a long period of preparation, planning, and tendering, the investors finally chose the ENVIA TRP oil separation system developed by Pureco. ENVIA TRP is a sustainable and efficient solution developed by Pureco for filtering and retaining the contaminants washed away by stormwater, flowing down from linear engineering structures and paved surfaces such as roads, motorways, and parking lots. This is the first time it can prove its effectiveness in an industrial park as well.

For the first phase of the Crno industrial park, 11 TRP units are installed, each capable of purifying 200 liters of water per second, with a purification limit of 2 mg/l.  This total capacity of 2 200 l/s means nearly eight million liters of treated rainwater per hour. This uniquely developed technology complies with the contamination types, is economical to install, and is simple to operate. The operational cost of the TRP system can be up to a tenth of that of conventional ones. In addition, the condition of the equipment can be continuously monitored, making maintenance easier.
